HANDS-ON AEROBATICS (1hr)

Let the Red Baron indulge your childhood fantasy by giving you control of the Robin 2160 aerobatic trainer. With the Hands On Aerobatic flight your flight instructor will give you a pre-flight briefing then, once airborne, you’ll have the chance to take the controls and maneuver the Robin through level flight, a loop and a roll.

ALBATROSS FIGHTER JET

Move over Tom Cruise, this is your chance to be a Top Gun with a fully customized 25-minute flight in a real jet fighter- the L-39c Albatros. Your jet fighter experience begins with a guided tour of the L-39 Jet Fighter and a full mission flight and safety briefing. In full flight suit and helmet you’ll climb aboard the L-39 where your pilot will help you strap in. You’ll be guided through the start procedures where you’ll feel the awe of jet spool up, and taxi for takeoff where 4000 pounds of jet thrust will launch you into the atmosphere.

You will begin with a climb to the manoeuvring area at 8000ft, do some “G” warm manoeuvres then move on to tactical aerobatics at low and high “G” and rolling manoeuvres like loops, Cuban 8’s and vertical rolls; then descend to the low level operations area to experience a high speed, low level dash before cruising back to the airfield. This flight departs from The Hunter Valley.

TROJAN T-28D FIGHTER PLANE INTRO

The T28 Trojan Fighter Bomber is our massive World War 2 style fighter plane. A very impressive machine! Powered by a huge Wright Cyclone radial engine which produces almost one and a half thousand horsepower, soar into the skies in the 'Harley Davidson' of the air!

TROJAN T-28D FIGHTER BOMBER

A 1 1/2 hour long experience. The T-28D Trojan generates a hefty 1425 hp and began her career in 1962 engaged in counter insurgency roles in Vietnam. Flying this warbird will truly bring you closer to experiencing life as a fighter bomber pilot. Feel your nerves rise as you undergo your pre-mission briefing and go through the routine of the pre -flight inspection. Nothing can be left to chance.

Climb into the cockpit, take a deep breath as you gather speed on the runway, feel the wheels leave the tarmac and your senses tingle as you climb to the east and follow the coastline from Lake Macquarie north along Newcastle's pristine surf beaches and begin your series of tactical yet graceful aerobatic manoeuvres. Track at speeds of up to 400 km per hour, trace the outline of Newcastle Harbour and then turn for home, the Hunter Valley, mission accomplished.
